 Its that time of the year once again when fun frolic and films come together on the sands at a superbly located beach in Puri, Orissa.

 no heirarchy, no bureaucracy, no hassles....just sun sand sea and cinema...and more...

cheers!!!!.....the Seventh byoff is on: feb 21 to 25, 2010.

for those who don't know about byoff even now, here's a lowdown:

 A bunch of film makers got together and thought it would be great to get together somewhere on a beach, away from the oppressive atmosphere of a city and far removed from the pomp and ceremony of a sarkari festival... a place where we could chill out, be ourselves, let our hair down and share our works with each other, on the sands, through the night...! ... and we zeroed in on Puri in Orissa.

Sounded utopian to some but not to the 300-and-something people who decided to go for it and just landed up with their films(and ideas and songs and guitars, and plays and pictures and...)... they came from all the 4 corners of the country and some even from abroad....we had a ball, saw fantastic films, discovered great new talent.... the creative juices flowed, other things flowed, while the sea roared... the blind date was a grand success...this was 2004...the action replay happened in 2005/06/07/08/09/ and this year we bring you the seventh edition of this "mini woodstock of films" as some have called it.... but its more than just films, if you want to sing, dance, show your paintings sculptures, photographs, discuss ideas, share thoughts and experiences, or just laze around and do nothing, byoff is the place to do it.

 and remember, there lots to see and do in orissa, and puri is seductively charming, so keep those return tickets flexible.... if you have always wanted to go there but never made the time or effort, now is the time to do it... if you have half a mind to come, we'll provide the other half....rest assured, byoff puri will be BHADAAS DHO!
